The previous process for this overwhelming project was cumbersome – for the student testers as well as Jason, who checked their work and fixed any faulty ports. The students lugged around a bulky laptop to every single port, plugged into the drop, ran the various tests, and annotated the results either in a spreadsheet or by hand on a form. The laptops were not ideal for this type of work, due to their size, weight, cost, and potential for damage. This forced Jason to spend extra time going back to each faulty port and running further tests before he could fix it.
